I have had chickens and pheasants along with finches canaries and budgies my whole life... Now I just have chickens (chooks)
Have candled eggs for fertility
I have kept all sorts of breeds,
Hatched out of incubators with 98% success rate
Grown chickens out to maturity successfully
Have plucked many a rooster for home consumption
These days just have a few for eggs...
Have let the incubators go to some one younger
Not knew to chooks or other bird life...just knew to this group
