Pikelet the spaniel with dog adhd (hyperkinesis)

Vet appointment done! We are now waiting for more information about being referred to a vet behaviourist!

Its weird how un-trainable people will say spaniels are 😅 vet has spaniels and said you can get a Lab trained in 2y and a spaniel won’t be at 12y…. who would want a working dog that can’t be trained?🙃

probably not a good idea to compare the dog to other dogs or to label with a disorder. Each dog is an individual and will need individualized training.
I see a good dog in the videos.
This is not going to be a popular comment, but I’d say the problem is with you. Trying to label the dog as ADHD seems like an excuse for poor training on your part.

Ive seen many spaniels trained by 2 or 3 years old. They are perfectly well behaved. But they have energy like any field dog.
Each dog is unique and i didnt realize how much extra training a field dog needs. They cant keep focus as well but in the end they know every command.
I work daily with Tucker on commands. And he has learned how to settle easier so no more pacing around the house for 3 hours.

I find it weird that you think you can judge not only a dog by a few videos but also somebody’s training knowledge and skills in a video that doesn’t even show it🤔

I am not ashamed to get the help my dog needs! will be getting qualified professional opinion on what is going on and I am fully prepared to find out it is nothing! But I am 100% sure something is going on, I might be wrong it might not be hyperkinesis!

I haven’t jump to conclusions with 0 knowledge, I have done research!

Dog training in general is hard 😅 each breed and dog comes with its own challenges!

Pikelet will be a year old next month 😭 she can’t really do anything indoors even 🥲

I found Denver to be extremely easy to train. Except for heel.

Tucker however is a lot harder. I had to take him to classes to get help with training him. They were super helpful.
For a few months Tucker was outside almost all day because he was crazy in the house. Him being out meant i had to. He is starting to settle down in the house. But outside well...

It still took you time and effort! Some dogs are harder to train then others but I think all dog training is hard in a way, its not impossible hard! It just does take knowledge, time and effort. Not to mention it can be frustrating sometimes!

Working line spaniel should be fairly easy to train, since they are bred to ignore dogs , listen around prey and behave while you are using a gun!

It did take time. However she knew basic commands in 2 weeks.

Working dogs at any are suppose to be easy to train i find them more difficult
