Hi everyone, I got my Pilgrim pair last year around October I believe and today my goose laid her first egg :) She has been acting quite broody already I believe. She is laying hers in the same area as the ducks and tries to cover the eggs with twigs and leaves and such. If she decides to go broody and try and hatch out goslings should I let her sit on some duck eggs as well or is that not something to recommend? I couldn't find info about letting a goose hatch a duck egg. Is she too hot or humid or something? I am sure hoping she will set and try and hatch out some goslings :) I want another goose or two :)

I would be interested in any response to this post as well. Two of my geese have acquired either chicken or duck eggs. They were laying near each other and the geese just sort of appropriated the eggs. I am not sure whether they will hatch them or not. My big concern is whether they will break the eggs or not. Mine haven't yet. Also, If they hatch, I don't think I could let them keep chicks because they would try to take them into the water.

lol yeah taking a baby chick into the water would be an issue for sure. Am hoping someone who know more about ducks/geese hatching will answer. I've never hatched either out before, only chickens.
