We're putting a new roof on my old pole barn and the Pilgrims have been designated the foremen, they're finding it all very fascinating!

I know all mine are and I have heard over and over how sweet they are from others that have them. I would say its a common thing with the breed just like with Golden Retriever dogs. But just as with any breed there will always be a few that don't fall in to the description. Seeing as this is considered a part of the breed description along with the color sexing and general description it should be part of selecting which birds to breed. I have seen more then once to cull any ganders that show more aggression. The only thing I would add is any animal no matter the genetics will act out in some way if its treated bad/ teased/neglected/or cruelly. The base temperament of Pilgrims should be (and almost always is) sweeter and mellower then for other breeds.
