Pilgrim goose not setting

My Pilgrim goose has not started sitting on her eggs yet. She has been collecting them all season and had started to sit on them last year by this time. They will be 8 years old this year. Is that getting too old? Should I pick up all her eggs? She has over 20 in her nest. The weather has been really hot so I doubt they are viable.

Birds don't always go broody.
Some go broody each year like clockwork.
Others will go broody in their first or second year and then never again.
Others will never be broody for several years and then suddenly they will.
Your goose just isn't broody and may or may not go broody.
She does not need the clutch of eggs to go broody so eggs should always be collected daily so as not to go to waste.

i try not to leave more than 5 eggs in her nest if i’m expecting her to go broody and I number them each day write a number on each egg so if number six shows up, and she still not broody yet - then you remove number one . and if number seven shows up you remove number two and so on therefore none of the eggs are any older than 10 days so if she does decide to go broody on them, they’ll all be viable too
