I currently have 6 chickens. We have 3-year old hens (GLW, BR, SexLink), and 3-8week old chicks (SLW). We were wondering when would be a good time to introduce them. We technically already have started

. We have the 8 week old-s in a small run inside a larger run. They seem happy despite their lack of space. The older 3 are strutting around in a cozy 400sqft run. The chicks and chickens have been living along side each other for over 5 weeks. We recently started doing playtime together. Not much playing going on... The BR and GLW could care less about the little girls, while the sex link thinks it's her duty to chase and peck at them each time she sees them. My father is pressuring me to have them live together soon, but i don't want the little ones to be injured by being rushed.

Since only one of the chickens shows aggression to the little ones, I was contemplating obtaining pin-less peepers for her. I have heard great reviews about the use of these, and since Chica's (The sex links name) main strategy for attack is a straight attack, I was figuring that this could be an option.

I don't want to risk a $50 investment (Yes the cost of three little chicks +shipping), but they are running out of space. What do you guys think? Would pinless peepers be an option here? THANKS!

At this point they are being picked on because of their size difference. It would be best if they can live apart till they are closer in size. Can you enlarge their area in the run? If you have to integrate. Try an opening in the partition just big enough for the little ones. Also you could provide a few places for the little ones to hide that the sex link can't get into or where they can get out of sight could work for now.

what are these pin peppers or pinless?? peepers I thought a pepper was a small chick.

I know this is a stupid question but I never heard of it.
