Okay so I was given a bunch of different types of foods and was wondering if any would be good for my babies. I got pine nuts and shaved almonds as well as frozen mixed veggies.

Any thoughts

Sorry to say this LilyD, but I wouldn't do it. Frozen veggies won't have much in the way of nutrition. The nuts will be high in oils and may cause digestive upsets, though there's some value in their protein. However I'd save the nuts for pesto and fruit cake!

I feel you would be much better off relying on either a good complete home-mixed ration (ground mixed grains, animal protein, yeast, alfalfa, minerals, salt) or commercial chick feeds.

Good luck,
Erica

All are fine for chickens, as treats. Keep treats to 10% of their diet or less.
I can't imagine pine nuts and almonds making it past me to the chickens.

Imp- has been known to get into the chicken treats.

Yeah sorry I should have been more clear. I would not be feeding them as a feed ration. They are on poulin chick starter and will be switching to grower soon but I am always looking for good treats for the boys and girls
