Pine Shavings as Flooring and Cost?

CityChook:

That seems like a FANTASTIC idea!

I'm not sure if and/or what digging predators we may have but if you're correct on saying that the butterfly effect will discourage the diggers(Which seems pretty realistic to me!) then I believe that would solve my pine shaving cost and would still keep the tractor mobile. And if it's not correct, well then I could always close it back up and weld it shut again. I will definitely be making this my weekend project - Thanks again City!

In my coop, we did the linoleum over plywood, and i am SO glad we did. We also do the deep litter method. This makes everything so much easier - the linoleum is easy to clean up and easier to stir the shavings around successfully. Plywood alone would soak up the moisture and make it harder to clean.
