pine shavings, where do you get the best deals?

Well the closest one to me is Petersburg, VA and that is 3.5 hours away and 191.71 miles.

Not close enough.

My local feed store has the 9.5 (uncompressed, but comes compressed) for $7.50. It is less than 3 mins from my house so with gas prices the way they are it is definetely cheaper than the almost same size bag at TSC that is $6 and 30 minutes out of my way.

I am fortunate enough to have a local industrial mill that makes railroad ties. We take our pick-up there, and the Amish workers fill it up - for $5

So, it may be worthwhile to see baout any mills in your area, especially if you live in a rural area. The hsvaings probably aren't quite as "clean" as a bagged product. (There are big pieces of wood occasionally or a piece of bark.) But. . . the price is right!
