pine tress ?

I have a pine tree in my back yard. and was thinking about useing the pine needles for the chicken coop . Are pine needles good to use with chicken or will they harm the chickens ?

What application? I think they would make great nesting material. The wild birds in my yard make nests out of them all over the place. Since they're commonly used as mulch (down here in the S.E. USA) I think they would work just as good as any other flooring/bedding with regular cleaning out.

pine needles sound great they will help keep the insects down.


However, I would be concerned that they are very slippery. When first raising poultry, some of the babies slipped and hurt their tiny little chicken legs and had to be destroyed.
