I did the search deal and read up on the tutorial about pinioning quail. I then talked a friend into help'in me stretch wings out.
It went alot better than I thought, for the birds I mean. They are just over 2 weeks old and didnt seem to be phased by the process. They were the normal geeked out bobs, but bled very little and showed no sign of pain.
These were Georgia Giants that I only ended up with 9 of, 13 out of 50 were fertile, 4 were late quitters. I figured I want to pinion all my breeder birds and had never even seen it done.I dont really know what to do with 9 birds so we put on the white lab coat and did a little play'in DR.... Now I'm ready to pinion my breeders when the time comes. You can still EAT a bird with one short wing, right? Bill
BTW, Everyone is eat'in sleep'in and seems fine....
