Pinioning wild ducks

Yea I am going to put a top on it because i would rather have not pinioned birds. How many birds could fit in a 25' by 25' pen hold? Also I am putting a 1000 gallon livestock watering tub in there for them to swim in.

hey i am new and wanted to, to also have some wood ducks. my questions are is it legal 1 as im in concord nh, and 2 if so how would i go about getting some?

I am not sure if it is legal to have them in Concord NH but if it is there are many people on this forum that own them. Its to hot right now to ship them but when the temperature cools down in the fall they will start selling again. Here are some people that have wood ducks Destinduck,
Kangababy,
Exoticduckluver,
water dog,
Kansakid,Also
DMFrams on here in Texas has them
and Chawtaw Trail Farm's on here in OK have them, usually $45 pr.
Shipping will be usually $80 a box, for 1-pr or 3 pr. So if you have to get them shipped, get several prs, it helps bring the average price back down to normal that way. With just 1 pr, it can get pricey again.
Oh Mallard Lane Farms in TN has them all too, I think $60 pr.
That is also their website name too if you'd like to check it out. When you buy them you will be provided with a 3-186 form from them. But to sell them you have to have a federal permit to sell them. I would sell you a pair or two of mine but i do not have my federal permit.

Stoner22,
You need to contact the NH Dept. of Fish and Wildlife to verify that you can legally possess captive-bred wood ducks. Each state is different and you need to verify the legality directly with your state wildlife agency.

Okay gosh that doesn't seem like much for all the work and money to build that big of a pen.

Your original plan of a pair of wood ducks, pair of blue-winged teal, and pair of egyptian geese is a disaster going to happen. You will end up with no wood ducks, no teal and a pair of egyptians. There's a reason behind the joke that in zoos they keep egyptian geese with the rhinos becauwse that's the only thing they can't/won't kill. I keep my egyptians by themselves/ Anytime I've even temporarily put anyhting with them, I've regretted it.

I knew the egyptians were aggressive thats why im going to have them in a seperate pen by theirselves.
