Pink egg! Who’s the daddy?

@Percheron chick says Henry is papa because the pink had to come from Brahma.
@pipdzipdnreadytogo says Albert is papa because the girls are clean legged.
I’m guessing Thelma and Goober don’t have to have beards to belong to Carmen?
I didn’t think I had included Mabel’s eggs in the clutch but it’s been awhile so I may be misremembering 🫣
Anyway I hope you’ve had fun with this. :thumbsup :hugs

Brahmas commonly have pinkish eggs, but pink doesn't necessarily have to come from a Brahma. I have never had a Brahma or Brahma mix hen in my flock but have had several pinkish eggers over the years. The pinkish color comes from a heavy bloom over a brown egg. Generally, if you run the egg under water, it turns more brownish because the bloom turns clear when wet.

If Carmen only has one beard gene, then half of her chicks with a non-bearded rooster will also not be bearded, so it is possible for them to be clean-faced even as her offspring.

Not sure about Carmen’s heritage. When I bought her she was thought to be an Easter Egger but surprised me with Olive eggs. I was just as happy since I was planning for one in the future. Very happy now with her offspring😊

Aww Gladys is adorable! Rosie lays pretty blue eggs. I was hoping to get an offspring from her because my EE, Henneth Fowltrow, is getting older and laying less of her beautiful green gems. Sadly none of Rosie’s eggs hatched. They would have grown to lay green eggs.
