Pink eggs?

Sorry I don't have any pics for you either. I had a bantam EE that I lost to a coon 3 months ago that laid pink eggs. They were pretty pink, more pink than cream colored. Sadly I never got any of her eggs hatched... Someone on here a year ago was talking about a bird that had pink eggs with purple speckles in them. Rooster Red? if memory comes to mind right... If not Hi anyway RR haha

This is fascinating reading! I had two beautiful little EE chicks hatch today and have one more in the process of hatching. They are Ameracauna (hens) x Rhode Island Red. I am hoping beyond hope that some are pullets! I have 20 more of the same mix in an incubator (just happened to have a broody hen and stuck some eggs under her as well).

My 3 Ameracauna hens are beautiful birds (big bears and ear ruffs and the funny smooshed down combs) and lay pale blue eggs. The anticipation of waiting for my homegrown EE to grow up and lay is gonna kill me!

As for pink eggs, I've never seen a really pink egg. Wish I had, they must be gorgeous.

My Buff Orpington hen lays lovely dark rosy brown eggs. Aside from my Ameracauna eggs, hers are the prettiest. The RIR and Barred hens light brown eggs just look so dull next to the facier colored eggs. Poor girls! Oh well, they are very productive.

I have 5 Black Australorp pullets that shoudl start laying this fall. I'm looking forward to seeing what shade of brown they produce.

I have an EE that lays pink eggs.

Right now she is brooding chicks, so she is not laying... I'll try to get a good pic when she starts laying again.

I do have a witness who can verify that this hen lays pink eggs... SpeckledHen (Cyn), I got this hen from her.

i'd love a pink layer! my ameraucauna lays very blue eggs, but after 3 years of 3-4 eggs a week, she just quit laying all of a sudden, been 2 months (i hope she's ok, but i would think i'd know otherwise by now?) i got an auracauna from a school hatch (but she's growing a tail hmmnn) and 4 auracana/ameraucauna from mm. one is white (again hmmnn) i can't wait to see the color shades!

I wonder if I could coax a pink egg out of an EE roo and BR hen cross? No, that may be more olive, huh?
Wish we could feed them something like strawberries to get them to lay the more pink/red eggs. Wouldn't that be neat?

Rooster-Red, is your pick layer with a EE roo? If so I would love to buy some eggs when she starts laying again, maybe towards fall when it's not so hot to ship

I got 3 Americauna chicks from Ideal in March 2005. One lays a decidedly blue egg, one an olive-green egg and one a light pink egg. I have no roos so all my eggs are infertile. I guess its just the luck of the draw. My photobucket isn't working right now but when it is, if you remind me, I'll post pics of my eggs.
