Pink Eye

I noticed a few minutes ago that my 2 year old male, minature, pygmy goat (pet goat) has pink eye. The only thing that I have on hand is Terramycin. After washing the affected area, I applied the Terramycin to the affected area. I know that I have to do this twice a day for 7 days. My question is..... Do you put the medication IN the eye or just around the eye. The directions say to apply "topically". I'm taking that as that it's ok to place the medication IN the eye. Is that correct? I don't want to do any harm to my goat's eye. Can someone let me know if it is ok to put the Terramycin inside the goat's eye? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it goes in the eye. Apply a strip across the lower lid and then squish the eye shut so that it spreads around on the lids and eyeball.
