Hi, I need help... I have 6 new chickens (2 RIR, 2 white Leghorns and 2 black orpington mix...... I believe). The red and the white ones are exactly 8 weeks old. The black ones are more or less the same age.
Do I have boys or girls? I know some of you guys are really good at this so please help. They are all about the same size, none of them seem to be growing an extra toe yet, they all have the same feathers. Only the black one (the one with the complete black face has a little more red and seems to defend the other ones)
Thanks for your input. (BTW the name might sound weird but they are French and were picked by my 5 and 6 year old)

this is lune

the white one here is Dalma

again Dalma

this one is Tache

again Lune

This is Petit Pou (he is the one that seems to defend the other ones if I pick one up, he/she will peck at me)

This is Ruby

Ruby again

And finally Fraise

I don't know how but my daughter (6 years old) sees the difference between the 2 of each colors!
I have the feeling I have all hens (MAYBE except Petit Pou) and that would be AWSOME!
Thanks again

I'm no expert with these breeds no where near expert haha but from these photos Id say both orpingtons are male, petit pou is quite red and both have large combs and wattles. Id say Dalma is female not sure about tache, do you have a head shot? is he/ she developing wattles yet? I know leghorn hens get pretty big combs so its difficult. I have no idea with your RIR I'm afraid, Fraise could be a roo. how do they behave? and could you get some head shots? I had three German bantam langshan chicks hatch recently, and by 3/4 weeks could tell them apart by comparing. I had two darker coloured ones with clear, clean combs developing and wattles developing. Also when I ran my finger over the spur I could clearly feel it. They were always fighting too and tried fighting with the other one. My white chick had a small comb but hardly visible, she has no wattles developing and you can hardly feel her spur. She would never start fights with the other too, is easy to pick up and hold never tries to jump out of my hands (unlike the other two) and that's how I could tell mine apart
