pinless peepers work!! Our silkie is back with the others!!

I only had the peepers on them for a week or so. It was just enough for the silkie to find her confidence and the easter eggers to accept her as part of their flock. I would of kept them on longer but my girl like to dig and they were getting dirt stuck in their nostrils. they couldn't scratch the dirt out b/c of the peepers so I took them off. It all worked out great though, they're all friends now!

How well does this work for feather picking? I have I thought I heard that the color red entices them? Where are these available? Only online or eBay? Wish amazon had em..

No, it doesn't hurt, the little part that sits in the nose isn't through anything, they just sit in the nostril passage. At first they try to scratch them off, but I would too if someone put something that obstructed my vision on me. My hen was fine 10 minutes after I put them on, and she hasn't plucked a feather since then. Been a couple of months now. She eats and drinks normally, scratches up goodies and eats the grass and weeds. The only difference with her is she wears blue glasses.
