Chickens dont like wearing peepers at first but they get used to them usually by the second or third day. Keep them on all the time. For example, you wouldnt want to remove peepers off a bully. The bully would go back to being a bully again.
They are easy to put on and remove using special pliers. Here's a link with pics of peepers and the pliers.
