Okay 1st pip I noticed last night at 1130 or so, this am at 5 I had another partial pip. Since I've been up this am, I haven't heard any peeps or seen any movement within the shell ( no beak movement, cant see breathing ) . Should I be nervous? Also, the partial pip still hasn't broken all the way through....

Your chick is most likely fine! They hatch in spurts, and don't expect to see much progress until later this afternoon as it can take up to 24 hours to hatch. I'm right there with you, I noticed my first pip at 1 in the morning and by this morning there were 4 more! 5/6 have pipped! Good luck with your hatch.

Relax and step away from the incubator!!!!

We all worry. It is amazing how one will pip and take forever to proceed. Then the next will pip and almost pop out!

Relax and enjoy.

I agree. Relax, hard as that is.

It seems like no two eggs hatch the same. Some pip then zip fairly soon afterwards. Some take forever in between. They are not just resting after the pip. The blood veins are drying up, they are absorbing the yolk, and who knows what else they are going through to prepare to hatch. Some do most of this before they externally pip, some do it after, and occasionally you get one that zips before it has totally prepared. You are dealing with living animals so anything can happen, but most of the time, they are OK.
