The chick was able to hatch without any problem! Thank you for your advice.1. Stay calm. This happens more often than you'd think and they're usually okay.
2. Make sure chick can continue to breathe as it rotates to zip. Once they start to zip, I like to open up the pip location just a tad and periodically check as the chick moves to make sure they have a clear air path to their nostrils.
3. That's it. Nothing else really to do. Chick should hatch ok on its own. Sometimes, pipping on the wrong end indicates chick may have developmental issues, but it could just be a function of the shell geometry, and chick is fine. Either way, the only thing you can do is wait and keep air way clear. Good luck!
