Pip half way down the egg.. what do I do?

The beak is sticking out though right? You can clearly see it and it is free from any membrane or stickiness???

Yes there's no membrane stuck to it's beak. It just doesn't seem to be able to do anything but poke it's beak out the hole and cheep.

It is a centered pip..... when you were looking at it, other than the fact it's pipped in the center, did the position look ok? (foot not over the head or head between the legs or anything tha would impede it's progress.) It's beak should be peeking out from under it's wing.

I couldn't really see that well. I'd have to peel back more membrane to see clearer but I don't want to cause a bleed.

If there's still a lot of veining, it's best to just let him rest. He's not ready if there's heavy veining anyway. I was just curious if you could tell when you had looked.

What do I do if it's still like this in a few hours? What's the best way to help it hatch?

A normal pip can take 24 hours to go from pip to zip (sometimes longer, mine average between 12-18) a true malposition chick can take double that because they are missing the internal pip step which can last 24 hours itself. If you need to assist, this is the best reference source: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching Good luck. I hope he comes out alright.

He just seems to be cheeping heaps. Also it looks like he's breathing really fast.

He's almost made it out and all by himself. I'm glad I didn't have to intervene TOO much. Thank you so much for helping me assist him earlier :-)
