So for context, today is day 20! The egg currently pipped is a Bantam Purebred Ameraucana, so I'm worried about the potential for issues hatching on its own as I know Ameraucanas can be prone to crossbeak as well... it's a very pointy-ended egg! I do not know when it pipped, only that it had to be after 1 a.m. last night. (It's 7:40 a.m. here about) I'm not sure when intervention would be necessary with wrong-end pips (I know the rule of thumb is usually 24 hours, I think?), and I'm not sure if the chick will even need it so I may be putting the cart before the horse here. I do not want to intervene unless it is absolutely necessary to prevent hurting the chick, but also don't want to lose a chick for not stepping in soon enough. Thanks ahead of time for the advice!

It'll do fine. I've had quite a few chicks pip the wrong end, & hatch successfully. Very rarely assistance is needed.

Thank you SO much! The time I had to assist one before, he had his leg up over his head somehow and was all contorted after pipping on the wrong end, but he hadn't continued to zip for quite some time so I knew at that point it was necessary. I was shocked he didn't end up with splay leg or even a broken one with how twisted up he was! This really relieves me. I CAN see the little beak now, making chewing motions, so I'm much more at ease too. 🥰 I appreciate it!

You're welcome.
