I went out on a feed run and came home to two more pips! There's a lil beak in there, too!

First baby of this batch hatched just before coop closing time about an hour ago. She had a tough hatch, zipped around the egg twice before she finally got it open.

Second baby just hatched and had a much easier time of it

Both other eggs are pipped, so it's just a matter of waiting them out

4 out of 4 hatched for this batch Pictures will come a little later!

The newbies! Looks like I may have gotten 2 dark Blues, a regular Blue, and a Black in this batch!

First to hatch baby, dark Blue:

Second to hatch baby, regular Blue and such a pretty baby

Third to hatch, another dark Blue:

And the last to hatch, the one I am suspecting is Black:

And here are the older siblings, one week old now and just starting to get some feathers going They've taken to their baby siblings like nothing at all, thankfully!

Not to take away from the cuteness, but... Ugh, I've been meaning to post this all day.

Old man Winston passed on yesterday. He had been going downhill for a while now, slowing down a lot and not crowing much, so I kinda figured it would be soon. Yesterday morning, he was laying on the ground in his pen by the perch, and he passed on not long afterward. Winston was 7 years old this year, not sure exactly when because all I knew of his hatch date was that it was some time in 2016. I guess he and Sybil are together again finally.

I have six eggs in lock down and four have pipped externally, so more babies on the way here!
