Pipd's Peeps!

Day 12 picture of the day. What a set of Dorks! 🤭

This is Kita and Lydda up on top of that nest box structure that Vega was trying to brood in a while back. I heard a commotion of flapping and thumping, so I went over to check, and it was simply big ol fat Lydda struggling to fly her way up here. They like to get up on top of this thing to pick the berries out of the bush and vines nearby. They're a tad early for any of that, though.

Runners up, here are the last of the brooder babes inside. They're looking (knock on wood, pray, hold breath, fingers crossed) like 2 cockerels and 3 pullets so far, so at least my numbers look like they might be starting to shift :fl They really need to move out to the coop but I'm working on rearranging things for space again. 😩

And a peek in at the duo-mamas again, or at least their peeps. I'm not even sure which mama that is because she moved and blurred in the picture 🤭 But that's the little Judy booty baby front and center :love

Lol, well they didn't get that size by skipping snack time, girls gotta get those berries before anyone else does 😄

It's a Booty baby! So super adorable!

They definitely don't come much more stomach-oriented than a Dorking! 🤭

Kinda late today, but I did make it on for day 13's picture of the day! 😁 We're giving the honor to Rowena today, one of my last silkied Red Cochin bantams and getting to be an old lady as well at 7 years old! :love

Just one runner up today, Opal giving me dirty looks for trying (and failing  ) to get a picture of one of her peeps. You can kinda vaguely see her kiddos on the step beyond her, between her chest and the waterer that's sitting there in this shot.

They're so beautiful :love

They are, I love them so much :love

Well found what might have been the thing that took the white chick. A huge rat! The cats did their job already and dispatched it. They also took out a squirrel.

Oh, yuck! Good kitties, though!! :clap Hopefully you don't have any more trouble with chicks disappearing now.

Picture of the day, day 14! We made it to 2 weeks, y'all! :yesss: Today's honoree is Endymion, AKA Dym-Dym or recently 'Dymothy'. ...That last one's a bit of an inside joke with some friends. 🤭

Runners up, or, well, kind of just coincidentally taken pictures from this morning. I wanted to get some decent shots of some of my silkied Cochin grow outs for comparison's sake later on, but it works for this, too. 🤭 First up is the first Judy booty pullet I hatched for the Easter hatch along:

The cockerels from that hatch were not as cooperative. Guy on the left is the other Judy booty from Easter. Look at him!! 😍

It's pretty dim in the pen that the next oldest peeps are in that early in the morning, but I tried to get a couple shots of them as well. Both of these are Blue bander pullets as well:

(This one turned out terribly, but look at that face :love )
