Pipd's Peeps!

Oh my gosh, that would be hilarious and scary - chicks falling from above.

Speaking of falling from above - sometimes I get bombed with a poo from the oegbs if they are on the rafters and I'm not paying attention. I think they do it on purpose. 🤣

Oh my goodness! 🤣 My rafter perchers do that to me, too! Gotta be careful where you stand in the coop if anyone's sitting up there!

Day 43 picture of the day! Feeling famished and unwilling to hold on just a tiny bit longer for me to set up the feed pan and fill it this morning, Fifi opted to skip the wait and go right to the source.

Can't you just see the halo floating over her head from the innocence she exudes?

Picture of the day 44! I think Wynne is really feeling her old age these days, poor gal. She's officially a teenager as of May this year, having turned 13 years old! She's always had the most menacing look to her at the right angle, but she's also always been such a derpy bird that it's hard for me to ever take such looks from her seriously. 🤭

Runner up for today is a shot of the youngest incubator babies of the year, the non-weird chicks out of the only corner coop hatch I did (plus one green bander cockerel, front right, that wasn't doing as well as the others in his brood so I held him back with the younger brood). This section of the coop has the worst lighting first thing in the morning 😬

Wow, 13!?! She's allowed to be derpy at this point 🥰

13 years old. Wow. That's amazing! ❤️

I need a tutorial on your feeders. I'm always wasting money on stuff that is needless, but when I use open feeders my ZuZu (the oldest bratt) loves to rake it out. :rant

I wish I had my camera this morning. Ivy was hanging out in the nest box leaning over the edge with one wing out. Looked like she was hung over. :gig (So not punny - - oh yes it is). 😂 She growled a bit too. Just hoping it's the "get out of my nest box growl" and not the broody growl. :fl

Haha, the thing is, she's always been a derp, even when she was young! 🤭

That feeder in with the chicks unfortunately doesn't prevent the big birds from shoveling feed right on out, so I have to make sure I pick it up when I put the peeps up or they'll still make a mess. I think the best thing I did for preventing feed waste from that behavior was switching my adult birds over to pellets. They shovel it out a bit still, but then they pick it out of the bedding because it doesn't just get buried down in it right away like the crumble does.

Oh, goodness! 🤣 Tough day at work for her, huh?

They do make some pretty wicked noises in the nests even if they aren't broody, so hopefully you're right on that growl. :fl My Legbar, Harriet, has never even made a cluck like she was considering broodying and she's notorious for making this jarring dinosaur screech whenever anyone peeks in at her in the nest 🤭

🤣 Ivy growled at Rebel last night when he was just trying to show some affection. 🤭 She puffed up and looked like a fluffy soccer ball. :lau

Picture of the day 45! Happy first hatchday to Phoebe, who hates people so this was the best picture I could get of her. 🤭

My runner up turned out a lot worse on the computer screen than it seemed on my phone screen... But just for the sake of more chicken pictures, here it is anyway. Bella trying to decide her trajectory for coming off the dropping board in the corner coop this morning. 🤭
