Step 2 - Start Garden
Step 3 - CHICKENS!!!

My name is Aaron and I have this crazy idea that my family can one day be self sufficient. Chickens are not the end of the adventure, but the first step I take with livestock.

I have Googled dozens of things related to Chickens over the past year, and this site consistently shows up at the top of page 1 with tons of great advice...might as well join ya'll.
 
I agree. Step 4: Get Hogs....gotta have bacon grease to fry those eggs! At least that is what is next on my wish list. Welcome to BYC!!

That is a great Step 4! Lard is tasty! Step 4 for me is goats and Sheep next year with step 5 being milking. Then step 6 might include the swine! Got a couple years for that though.

I now crave bacon...thanks!
