Tell your hubby and the girls hello for me!

I am SO sorry. But thank you for setting my woes in perspective!

We had a soot incident and everything in the house was covered in soot!

Thankfully our insurer covered ServPro. They have been amazing. It has been horribly intrusive having people going through everything we own to clean it all, but we lost very little.

I hope they bring in pros. I have had to deal with water damage before and the others are right, if you try to short shift it now you will pay dearly later.

I am sorry.

Gee, thanks everybody. The plumber comes tomorrow.

I'm kinda excited about that. He has 10 years experience with the PEX plumbing and has a very good reputation around here. I should have water Tuesday evening or at least by Wednesday. I am really really tired of Subway. The insurance adjuster comes Tuesday, it really sucks that insurance does NOT cover the pipes, it sure would save us a ton of money. Ya'll check your policies to make sure you are covered for water damage, cause if it don't say so, you're screwed. Oh, and one more thing, go flush your toilet just once for me.

Good grief.. what a nightmare.
I'd have just laid down and tried to drown myself in the water...

Sweetest sound is water rushing thru new plumbing. Merry Christmas, Happy Anniversary, Happy Birthday, Happy Mother's/Father's Day for the next umpteen years. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I also got a new dishwasher. The old one was drug out in the floor, It didn't work anymore, WHY did I want the plumbers to hook it back up? I went to Loews in DH truck and came back witha brand new dishwasher that works-hoorah. The insurance adjuster was happy that we were re-plumbing the whole house, but of course insurance does not cover pipes, only damage. So he has measured ceilings, walls, floors and gone to calculate what will be on our put-it-back-together check. I bought a de-humidifier and DH plugged it in, it will help keep mold away. And tonight, I cooked REAL food. Not fast food, take home and eat on a paper plate. I cooked pinto beans, cornbread with green onions out of the garden and vine ripened tomatoes picked out of our PVC redneck green house in the front yard, LOL. Sheila, you have no idea how visions of cornbread danced in my dreams after you told me what you were cooking,

Life will be back to abnormal soon. Lowes has laminate flooring on sale this weekend for 78 cents a square foot, and it happens to be the same laminate pattern I have in the front part of the house. Going shopping......................

Yay! I'm so glad ya'll aren't living without water anymore!
Sorry I caused you to have cornbread envy, it was really good, by the way!
Oh well, look on the bright side, you're getting to do a bit of remodeling-whether you wanted to or not.
I'm trying to be a glass half-full kinda gal, here!
