It’s on day 19. They laid two eggs and I put one in my incubator and left one with the parents to observe if they were good parents because this is the mom’s first clutch.

I don't mean to sound rude, but they would have been better parents than a human could be. They just seem to know exactly what going on. It's incredible!

The mother refused to sit on the egg and left the dad to do everything which obviously didn’t work out due to him needing a break every now and then.

likely because of the disturbance in the nest. First-time mother's are extra moody, and will leave the nest if a third egg appears or one leaves. This is just simply from my experiences. All cases vary.

The little guy managed to hatch all on his own while I was coming home. He’s full of energy and flopping all around! I had to put him in plastic container to keep him from falling over
