Pipped egg on day 17. Should I go into lockdown?

Hey yall, I'm back with another question! this is the morning if day 17 and I have a pipped egg! Way too early! My question is, should I put the incubator on lockdown? I haven't marked the air cells yet, I was going to do it tonight before lockdown so I'm not sure what to do now! Will opening the incubator to mark air cells hurt this chick?

Put the eggs on lockdown. A day early won't make a huge difference.

When did you set? Did you count day one 24hrs after you set or the day of? Are these bantam eggs?

Thank you for replying! These aren't bantam eggs, I actually put the eggs in on 3/29 at night, so I counted the next day as day 0, then 3/31 as day 1. So my counting may be a little off.

It’s fine to put them in lock down now. What you read online in regards to hatching is simply guideline and not absolute.

Today would be day 19 so pipping is on time. Definitely put the eggs in lockdown.
