Why not just move Kitty back inside as well? That way her eggs could be fertile as well!


I have another question. Why is it everything you want or need is easy to find when you don't have the $$ to get it with?? I was looking on craigslist earlier for fish tanks, and I found a 55 gallon tank with wire cover for $60!!!! Now watch, next month when I will have the money to get something like that I won't be able to find them anywhere!!

Nope, Kitties outside for two reasons.
1. only one male can sucessfully fertilize 2 hens not 3- there'd be major fighting
2. I have her out there to proove to people they do well outdoors and she is

I think you are right- she is ready to mate with you! Must be those yummy worm treats you bring her lol.

My BQ are outside too, in an old pigeon coop I got on craigslist. I do have a plastic cover I put across the front for rain, but temp wise they are fine so far! They have been outside since May, so the winter will be our first. The temps here get to the 30's, so I expect them to be fine.

The coturnix quails (who are praised as being hardy outdoors even in very cold climates) shivver and fluff when I open the tarp to feed, where as Kitty struts around like she hasn't felt better. She's my proof in the puddin girl who's going to proove to others (and for my own personal research) that they do well outdoors as long as drafts, and shelter are well kept...im sure being with a bunch of warm bodies helps as well!

You know how roosters fluff up if they are fighting? Do quail do this too? One of my A&M's does this all the time when I go in the room they're in! It fluffs it's whole body up!
