Pipping Question about Membrane

Jamie, you just answered my next question, I think... My first pip is still active and peeping, but nothing much has changed. I see his tongue come out ant his beak, but no more hole being chipped away since last night's work.

My second to pip cracked the shell but did not punch a hole out. I can't see anything. It has been 12 hours since then. Should I be concerned about either chick. Jeesh this is worse than when I was having babies, lol.

to me having eggs hatching in a bator makes the old saying "a watched pot never boils" so true. it makes no difference if you sit and watch or just leave for the day, they will still take their time hatching. the only thing is it seems to take so much longer when you are hovering over the bator. take a trip for the day and come home to fuzzy butts. of course I'm not gonna leave for the day......

LOL...you sound like me when I hatched out my duck. It took JJ from Wednesday until SATURDAY to hatch. I was a wreck the whole time!!!
