These feather out to look very similar to RIRs, but have feathered legs and lay dark eggs. They hatch out yellow/buff. I can't speak to temperment yet, but so far the chicks are mildly skittish, but not too bad.

I dont mind the look of RIR, they are pretty, but I despise their temperament. Such grumpy hens, and not a speck of mothering instinct usually.

Same here, I traded my RIRs for Black Jersey Giants.

I wanted Marans, but I already have the Black Jersey Giants, Black Sexlinks and several black BYMs so I didn't want Black Copper Marans too, lol.
