Pkease help. I need to start in 12 hours

I read the starter section. Need some fast answers.

48 egg incubator came in while I was at work. Wife read it needs to run 24 hours to make sure its fine. I think we gonba ve ok BUT...

She loaded too much water in channels. 95.5% is current humidity.
All I have seen said if its too low add mor water. Can you have too much humidity?
How do drop it?

Chickens take ...was it 65% until day 18 then bring it up to 85% ?

Take all the water out and see what your humidity is reading. Do you have a separate thermometer and hygrometer that you have calibrated? Which incubator is it? This time of year there are many regions that have high ambient humidity and water might not be needed. Depending on your incubator, humidity is best 30-40% days 1-18. Then 65%+ at lockdown.

xs 2 That would be the Janoel knockoff type of bator. I agree with the 30-40%, but those bators have low humidity alarms and will be needed to lowered so they go off at a lower percentage. I recommend the low humidity incubation and checking air cells to stay on track with humidity adjustment. I would question if the hygrometer is actually correct. If you had 95.5% humidity you would see A LOT of condensation on the bator. I have a very accurate hygrometer and I start to see condensation at about 80%. You will want to get a second hydrometer and also a second or ever third thermometer.

You can double check if your humidity is correct based on your air cells.

There was a lot on the walls. I have a small amount of water in there now. If it gets below 45% the alarm goes off. Right now, it's holding at 50%
Temp was set a tad low on day one. Hope I didn't kill my eggs. Somehow was set to 36c. I called the wife and told her to make adjustments on it and get it up to 37.7c. It's at 37.6 right now so its close.
Being it is holding at 50% humidity....I'll let it ride there and will check air cell on day 7. I am hoping I don't have to be below 45%...the alarm will go off. Wish I could set the threshold on the alarm. If I knew the alarm would be like this I would have looked for a different model. Just seemed like so many were doing good with these cheap Chinese incubators.

You can adjust the alarm so that it goes off at a lower percentage. My sister had to reset hers so that she could run low humidity. Hers was reading 92% after taking the water out and still had condensation. You can have a decent hatch with just about any incubator that will hold a steady temp- but you have to work out the kinks and find what works best with that particular incubator. Unless you have the funds to by a brinsea, you have to go through some trial and error to figure thingns out.

I think the eggs will be ok with the lower temp for the first day. It's better to be lower then higher!
