placing eggs in the bator? How snug can they be?

I just recieved my first ever shipment of eggs in today!! YAY!!! (thanks so much tamsflock aka Tamara) I am waiting for them to rest for about 6 hours before I fire up the bator.
My question is: How much can the eggs be touching in the bator? They are pretty snug in there.. No room whatsoever. Is it ok that they are touching and snug fitted? Here is a photo of how they fit in:

Good question. I don't have a clue but hopefully someone else does.

They seems fine. Letting eggs touch each other is no problem as long as they aren´t on top of each other.
But can be a problem if you plan to let them hatch in there sinse the chick wont get any room.

Actually I do plan on letting them hatch in there as well. I dont have another bator to move them to

Not all the eggs will develop. You always inevitably loose some. So they will not be so snug. Hens incubate with all eggs bunched together.

The eggs touching each other shouldn't be an issue. I have never saw any under a hen that weren't touching.

I've seen hens hatch 20+ eggs (with no quitters) and they were ALL touching each other.

While they are incubating, they should be fine, but you should give them some more space when they are hatching, eg; three days before the D-Day
