Plain ole chicken wire

Pasture-chicken domain.
Now, I have a chain link fence running width of property. It divides yard and pasture and abuts barware pasture fences on each end. My birds have decided they like the yard better than pasture (no idea why). They goto end of chainlink fence, under barware fence then back into yard.
I want to run chicken wire along bottom of barb wire fence. I am NOT trying to keep predators out, that's impossible, just the chickens IN pasture and out of yard.
Is this doable?

It may work depending upon how high the chicken wire is.

I hadnt considered the heighth. Never seen any of the chickens on the barb wire. I think the wire is 48 inches- not sure
