My friend and I have been raising chickens for two years now and we want to try Turkeys next year. Our goal is to raise a few birds for 2014 Thanksgiving. I am hoping someone can recommend a good breed to start with for meat purposes and a calm disposition. I am also hoping someone can answer some general questions about housing needs.
Do we need to build a separate coup/run for the Turkeys or will they coexist peacefully with the chickens?
About how much room do we need per bird?
