planning garden for the chickens

Does any one plant veggies just for the chickens ?
I grow a bed of "sorrel" just for my chickens. It is in the "dock" family. It's edible and you can use it in salads but is very sour and I don't  like it. It stays green all year around here so when they have been in their run all day, I just grab a few leaves for them. The love it. In the bed, I have a put fencing around it or they will take it down to the roots.:frow

Chickens will eat just about anything. I usually toss in scraps that have either been nibbled by bugs are are weeds I want to clear out. The only thing I grow specifically for the chooks are Italian Dandelions because they grow just like weeds, are pretty in the garden and I can harvest almost all year round.

One thing to note is that there are a few things they -shouldn't- eat including tomato/potato leaves (anything in the nightshade family really), raw beans and onions.

I find that chickens are creatures of habit, that means if you want them to eat something they've never eaten before, introduce it to them slowly. Eventually they will love it!
