Planted aquariums or aquascaping, anyone?

Thanks, all!

Tfpets, I'm sorry about your Oscar

I'd love to see some photos of your tanks! Like you, I have definitely found the cost adding up! My lighting is nothing special and my tanks are both low tech, so I can only imagine what some people spend and how much work they put into this hobby. They're so beautiful to have around, though!

SamG, I have 2 small ponds outside that are too shallow to maintain fish throughout the winter. I figured that I'd give them a really beautiful place to "vacation" until Spring! Even when they're back in their pond, the tank will still be nice for us to look at. I was pretty careful about what plants I chose. They're all generally plants that goldfish won't pick at and are tolerant of low light conditions and cold temps. So far, so good!

Here's the betta/corydoras tank. I'm thinking it needs taller, more colorful plants in the background. Maybe something with a bronze or reddish color to warm it up a bit, what do you think?

And here's the new betta, he's very active and is constantly attacking his reflection but he doesn't bother the corys at all.

You have such Lovely tanks!

Our little bio tank here, son needs to put the glass cleaner to use:

and poor Oscar's empty tank...not done emptying it completely, not sure what we're doing yet...we could only keep two rocks in there cause he would pick everything up and use them against the glass as toys....the heater was really hard to keep in place, it was a floater most of the time....he was a messy guy, but I loved him...he survived alot.

I was able to get a video of our Saltwater aquarium. It's 55 gallons. Yesterday we made the final move from our 60 gallon hexagonal tank. My dad and I moved EVERYTHING: sand, rock, even the water. But it was definitely worth it

Oh man, I can't open the YouTube link from my phone right now for some reason. I'll check it out from my computer later on!

Tfpets, nice little tank! I'd love to see what you do with the Oscar tank!
