PLANTED GARDEN TODAY - anybody planting yet?

I just planted some Cape Honeysuckle (also called AZ Honeysuckle) in the run for the chooks. I made the mistake of NOT locking them up while I did it. Darn chickens went to town in the 20 seconds between me plopping the pkants in the ground and me putting the dog cage over the plants. Oh well, I picked the honeysuckle because it recovers quickly. Hopefully I wont need the dog cage this summer.....

I want to raise some blueberries and raspberries. Are they hard to grown?

I am going to assume raspberries grow like Blackberries. If that is the case - - - they are a piece of cake to grow.

BLUEBERRIES are not a piece of cake. They need super low ph. They have shallow root systems that are easily damage my over watering or fertilizer.
They need water or they won't produce fruit - - but too much and they will die so quick you will not know what hit you. I have working on our blueberry patch for 4 years now. I have planted, killed , and replanted many times over.

i have gotten 3 cucumbers out of my garden so far and they are the best lol. ive got like 50 flowers so lots more coming in. My watermelons just got flowers so any month now

my garden is frustrating me. lol

I am dying to be able to harvest something! My tomatoes and tomatillos are loaded but nothing ripe yet - the plum tree is bent over from plums, everything seems to be growing pretty well - but still have to wait. I did get some mesculin and some head lettuces - but my cabbages and broccoli all bolted a few weeks ago when we had a hot snap.

Oh well - now that they are out I planted more seeds for beas, black eyed peas, sun flower and summer squash. Can't wait for the new seeds to sprout!

Started planting my second round of sunflowers (squirrels ate the first...over 5 packets!), my cinderella pumpkins, and some flower seeds. Already have my radishes, peas, and spinach coming up. These are plants I am growing in containers or starting in containers. We'll plant more in a week or so...need to get the garden tilled...just had a frost warning two nights ago!

We had a late start due to a late snowfall in central Texas no doubt. My tomato plants are just starting to put on (hope it doesn't stay hot too soon) and I notice yesterday I have small squash. Cabbage, Potato, and onions look really good, they didn't mind the snow.

I have a tree full of plums, too. Another tree full of nectrarines. FIRST time to get fruit since I planted the trees a few years ago.

My lettuces bolted last week. Brocolli bolted almost a month ago. My green peas are in the process of dying too.

I planted beans, summer squash, tomatoes for the near harvest.

For deep in the summer harvest, I am planting - - - Okra, watermelon, and eggplant.

Why is your garden frustrating you ? ? ? It sounds like it is on its way to producing lots of veg.

CARROTS - - - ever wonder why it takes so long for them to mature? I planted beets and carrots this year because my potassium was so high in my soil that I was longing for a way to lower it. Love the beets - - - not sure if the carrots are worth the wait !
