I am new, and wondering if any of you plant specific ground cover for your chicks. I am a gardener and thought about planting some clover. I will have a coop shortly, and plan on using a small tractor as well for my hens. (only about 6 to start)
would you find it a benifit to plant assorted extra chicken friendly foods?

I planted a cover crops of rye and wheat in the garden way before I started with the chickens. While the chickens don't get to the garden I have cut some for them. This year not so much, thank you deer.

yes! pleasant valley organics sells a chicken blend with tons of omega 3 inside its got about 9 different combined grass and clover! a bag is only 6 dollars. i put it in mychicken run and it comes up fast and they love love it! check it out online!

Mot feed stores carry grains both for feeding direct or planting. I have no idea where you could go to buy deer.
