Plastic chicken wire?

My sweet DH bought the parts for our chicken run tonight, with the coop to come soon. He found plastic chicken wire at Home Depot, complete with a pic of chickens on it, and bought some for the top and bottom of our run. I was horrified, but I've been wrong plenty of times before and he's a smart guy.

Is this suitable for the bottom and top, or are playing with fire? If it matters, I have personally seen a fox IN our yard (although on the run to escape FAST) and there are 2 coyotes that are often in the open field behind our house. Plus raccoons for sure, I've seen then on my way to work in the am at 5:30. We live in the suburbs of Denver, CO with a 6" wood fence completely surrounding our tiny yard. TIA!

Dogs, coyotes, foxes and raccoons (etc) will GO RIGHT THROUGH that stuff.

Unless you don't mind that, I'd for SURE take it back and get something more appropriate. Not chickenwire, either.

Good luck, have fun,

Pat

LOL...it will keep your chickens in, but I don't think that stuff would keep a determined squirrel out (of your feed, since they wouldn't give a hoot for your chickens), much less a fox. So did the fox go over or under the fence, since it's 6 ft. tall??? I would invest in some decent wire for your run. But that was still sweet of your hubby to try to get a jump on your project. Hope he kept the receipt
