A lot of us are talking about plastic covering for windows and doors this time of year. I know they have the "window kits" at local hardware stores, but I feel it is too thin and tears easily. We have also tried thick paint drop cloth, but it is not "clear" plastic. Where do you get your clear plastic for sealing out drafts? I saw someone even mentioned the fabric department at Walmart.

Lowe's has a 6 mil 10 ft x 25 ft roll for $23. We use it over the window openings until we get all the windows hung.

edited to add - it also defuses the light really well and has made the hen house even brighter.

I don't even remember where I got mine from. It is not especially thick but it blocks the wind and that is all that matters. Like MissPrissy said, Lowe's or I am sure Home Depot or any hardware store would carry plastic sheeting. I plan on doing it this weekend, this fall has just been so unusually warm so I have put it off but I think it will really start getting cold soon like all of a sudden and I want to be prepared.
