playing outside for a few minutes??

Thanks all for the responses

I took them out a few at a time so I didn't feel stressed and chasing them. But I think I could have brought them all out cuz they stayed right by me and followed me around like momma hen!! I would sit and they all clammered and climbed on me. I was like go play....

they did wonder a little but never strayed too far. The only ones that were more skiddish were the dark brahmas. They calmed down but not as cuddly as my others. I didn't bring out any of my 3 weekers. I will wait till next week but the 4 weekers loved it and got a few ants. One snagged a bee and I was nervous it was going to get stung but she pecked the life out of it and ate it in pieces!! I love having less bees in this yard. I took tons of pics so I'll post some....

I have took mine outside all week and most of last week during the day. They are four weeks today. If it is raining they raise a big stink. Cry, cry, cheep, cheep, very loudly. Drives me nuts, lol. I don't blame them, I would want to go outside inside of being stuck in a big box.

Rain and wind!!! Praying for mid-70's by Wednesday...the dust is starting to drive me nuts and they are getting big enough to fly over the top of the brooder box.

You've got a couple of kids....got an old playpen (the mesh kind)? Turned upside down they work great for chick corrals.
Edited because I shouldn't try to type when I first get up from a nap.

I'm hoping to get a couple of the crates we lent a doggie friend back (once she's back from her dog show) to see if the crate is bottomless one the tray is removed...I sort of think one of the cheaper ones is?? But not sure???

Hmmm, I bought one at a garage sale for my first chicks. It must have been an older model cuz it didn't collapse.
Now I had a gazillion commercial catch pens laying around. They work great.

At 4 weeks mine would be living outside, even in MN. Chickens need grass, sunlight and fresh air. Is your coop/run ready? Why not move them now? (I only scanned through this thread, sorry.) Yes, put them out. Run an extension and give them a heat lamp, if you feel you need to, for nighttime. Come up with a temporary pen from stuff around the house, or something cheap from the feed store, or just tempt them back for collection with treats. But, yes, certainly, give those chickies some outdoor time, and not just 10 minutes.
