We got 4 RiR, and 4 Black Langshans, they have been in the new new coop for a week with our 4 mixed chickens... the gentleman we got the 8 from said put them in the coop for a week or so, so they can learn what home is, and set pecking order.
Today we opened the door and 11 of them came out, one of the RiR stayed behind... she came out in a minute or so... the second she hit the ground, a cockerel ran over and pecked her on the head, she dropped like a rock, quit moving, and closed her eyes.
I went over and picked her up, and she was fin, I petted her, and she ran off.
She was at the feeder, and another pullet came and chased her away, again, she she dropped like a rock, quit moving, and closed her eyes.
Is this normal behaviour? They are not pecking her hard at all, not worried that they are hurting her.
