While building my coop with my dad (playhouse built for my kids in 1993) and then the chicken run from scratch (2009) with a couple of friends, I realized that I do not enjoy construction from scratch because I don't really know what I am doing. Plus, I could hurt myself or others.

I make my living as a chemist (hard subject for many people), I enjoy working on my 3 cars and 1 diesel truck (saves lots of money and very satisfying when I finish and take my victory lap around town), I love surfing, snowboarding and skiing (good for my heart and soul) and I also enjoy basic household repairs like replacing a water heater, installing a dishwasher, etc. But building new construction from scratch is not fun for me when I don't really know what I am doing. My dad was an excellent wood worker, he built custom cabinets, desks, and household construction. I HAD to help him, but I didn't learn the details as I was just the kid holding and assisting, not doing anything. Long story short, if I am going to get better at construction, then I will need to practice and learn the skills, but I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon. Building chicken runs is as far as I have gotten.

build another coop on the far right and connect it to the main coop with another lovely run. it would be symmetrical and eye pleasing. well pleasing to my eye, unsymmetrical things get to me when Im building something.
