Please advise

My broilers from 4weeks starts getting lean and does not grow well any more. I noticed that once I change their feed to finisher, this problem starts. Can someone advice?

Don't change the feed... if they're doing well with what they are eating, I just wouldn't switch them...

Good advice from Ravynscroft. I never raised chickens when I lived in Nigeria, but I'd imagine that the considerable heat will also takes its toll, particularly on broilers. I'm not sure if this could also be a contributory factor to a reduction in appetite, as they grow

Good point, PPK... heat very well could be a factor once they're of a size...

It totally escapes my better judgement why the feed gurus think it's prudent to take a chick off 20% protein and put it on 15% protein at some magically predetermined age.

Me too!!! Also, chickens hate change, and may not eat the new feed as well, at least for a while. Broilers are fragile little guys, and my birds stay on the same feed all their lives. Mary
