Please be a pullet

Patchy pattern, early-growing, pink, three-rowed comb, and thick legs.
Could go either way though.
How old?

I see what you're saying about the comb, but apparently pea x single can produce an oddly large pea comb, so I was chalking it up to that. In a few weeks things should be more obvious one way or t'other.

I agree it could be male, those darker feathers on the wings are throwing me off. However that comb has absolutely zero color, and for eight weeks I'd expect at least a dash of red. I'm still guessing female, but I could see "her" being a late developing cockerel.

How many did you hatch this year?
I've bought/hatched 12 new birds, of the new birds, 5 (counting Jade) are boys. Then my sister got a couple birds that both ended up being boys, and I had two cockerels that I was growing out (who didn't feather in how I was hoping) to sell.
Well, I’m not 97% of people, am I?
I am open to it either way. And believe me, I would love for my friend’s bird to be female. It’s just my educated guess.
I respect your opinion, and I still have a nagging feeling that you're right. I'll keep hoping she's a she though. 🤞
She's one of my favorites and came from the most beautiful blue egg.
Interesting.
Well, in my experience, male blue Ameraucanas get patchy shoulders before saddles come in.
This is an 18 week old bird:View attachment 2713657
I'll have to get a couple pics of Pebble, the full Ameraucana. He has some really cool feathering.
Yes. It seems to be one of those ”in between” ones where it has a pullet sibling and a cockerel sibling (Rain and Pebble, I think?) and it doesn’t fit with either.
Yes! That's what I was kind of thinking. It's like whatever male colors up first is the dominant one, and the other ones all turn questionable. It's weird.
I'm sorry MGG but I have to sort of agree here. That's a very developed comb (even if it's pale) and she's got some funky patchiness going on.

Hopefully she's just a super overachiever in the development department. 🙏
Thanks for your input, Overo.
I hope so too! 😭
We're going to need a 2 week update. This is one of those tough birds to sex.
I sure will. I need to update my Silkie gender thread as well.
