Americus whinnied so shrilly, it sounded like a shriek. He examined the barbed wire on his small pen, seeing if he could jump it. Maybe... He thought regretfully about this morning. He had gone away from his mother to get a drink, but accidentally wandered into the forest in his sleepiness. He had gotten near the road when a two-leg in a pick-up with a trailer stopped, getting out of the cab. He had gotten a rope around Americus's neck, in his shock, and pulled him into the trailer. It had taken him here, and now he was trapped. "Mommy!" He screamed. "MAMA!"
