I was using sand in the brooder box once, and they really liked it. I just never got around to getting more. I'm thinking, if they made a chicken poop scooper, LOL, you could just scoop it out

Hmmm I just made 34 sandbags two days ago to prevent water from coming in my basement... Don't need them on a permenant basis. My kids in fact asked what we were gonna do with all the sandbags when the flooding was over around here - think I may have found a use.
