Please excuse while I RANT about feed Store....

I teach school, I have first-hand experience with such happenings. So sad. I would have said something too...it's the teacher in me.

Just proves what I've always said, people should have to pass tests and get a license before they are allowed to reproduce.

That is disgusting what happened. I bet it has happened to more than one chick at more than one store however. I figured there was some reason that TSC started putting the chicks into an enclosure. We went there, and noticed that the employee acted disgusted with his job when he was getting the chicks for some couple. He would pick out whatever chick, and plop it in the box. The couple looked a little dismayed. Those poor babies. They get it on all ends. First they are hatched, then hauled off in some box, then they displayed, and perhaps some monster children think it is cute to squeeze them to death, while their stupid parents look on..and perhaps even encourage the behavior either overtly or covertly, then say "Oh, little Johnny was never an animal torturer. He always loved animals" We had one of those in our area who was finally caught torturing cats. His mother said that he just "loved animals" and would never hurt them. I wonder if she too looked away when he may have been one of these little monster kids who started off squeezing chicks to death, and she defended him in doing so.."Oh, kids will be kids." Right. So will future felons be felons.

I know I would be doubly hesitant to buy chicks or ducklings from any store if I knew they were mishandled in any way. In the very least, they could die after I bought them and I would think that I did something wrong rather then them being abused before I bought them.

I'm so glad that you had the courage to speak up! It probably wont do her once ounce of good, but maybe the workers
will feel ashamed for not having more backbone! I'm a mom and grandmother, and I agree...NO is a word
that is not used nearly enough! Reminds me of a relative who let's her kids run wild..they can help it
because when they came to MY house they knew they better not act up lol. We have to blame the
parents for not parenting. A shame.
